- Install the Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM) on your Windows 10 machine
- Go to “Start” and right click on the “Cisco ASDM-IDM Launcher”
- Select “More” and then “Open file location”
- Right click the ASDM shortcut and go to “Properties”
- Look at the string contained within the “Target” field.
- Change the text to “C:WindowsSystem32wscript.exe invisible.vbs run.bat”
- You should now be able to launch the ASDM application on your Windows 10 machine.
ASDM image on 5505 is no longer updated but I hoped by running in compatibility mode i would be able to run it as windows 7 compatible application. It was working even on windows 10 however with newest updates stopped working. I was just wondering whether there is a way to run older apps as asdm image on 5505 is no longer updated. Found out the Windows 10 changed the shortcut properties. If this persists on the Windows machine please follow the below steps, It works for me. Since the clients OS is Windows 10, I will have to find a better solution.
